About the role#
Michael Baker International is seeking a Water Resources Intern for Summer 2027 to work with our Civil Engineering team in Detroit, Michigan. You will work under the supervision of project managers and engineers to assist with various technical duties and assigned projects.
What you'll do#
- Prepare engineering calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.
- Draft details and make minor AutoCAD revisions.
- Provide support for hydrology or hydraulics studies.
- Summarize study findings in a report and create supporting exhibits.
- Develop construction or post-construction storm water compliance plans.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor or Master’s degree program in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Minimum of 1 year of completed college coursework.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation design software.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and technical writing skills.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Detroit, Michigan.
- The compensation range is $24 to $26 per hour, depending on education, qualifications, and experience.
- This position does not offer sponsorship.
