About the role#
Michael Baker International is looking for a Structural Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work out of our Midvale, Utah office. This role involves supporting our Structural Engineers with engineering analysis, design drawings, and project details for vertical building structures. You will work under close supervision as you learn to navigate engineering challenges.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers with design drawings and analysis for vertical structural projects.
- Review shop drawings for construction.
- Handle construction administration tasks within the office.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least 3 years of a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil, or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited school.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
- A basic understanding of masonry, concrete, and structural steel design.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Experience with software such as Enercalc, RAM, ETABS, RISA, or STAAD is preferred.
- Knowledge of Revit is a plus.
- A focus on building structures.
Location & details#
- Location: Midvale, Utah.
- Work schedule: On-site or hybrid (minimum 3 days in office).
- Compensation: $18 to $26 per hour.
- Status: Part-time, paid internship.
