About the role#
Michael Baker International is hiring a Planning Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work under the direction of a Planner or Project Manager to support the planning department with technical tasks and daily operations. This is a part-time, paid internship based on-site in Wisconsin.
What you'll do#
- Assist the planning department with technical duties and daily activities.
- Support mapping, planning, and engagement efforts in the field.
- Work under the direct guidance of a Planner or Project Manager.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Urban Planning or Urban Design.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and present documentation effectively.
- A focus in transportation and urban mobility is preferred.
- Experience with mapping and design software is preferred.

- Locations: Madison, WI and Milwaukee, WI.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Compensation: $24 - $27 per hour.
