About the role#
Michael Baker International is hiring a Highways Intern for the Summer of 2027. You will work in our Madison or Milwaukee offices under the direction of a Project Engineer or Project Manager. This role supports our transportation department with daily technical tasks.
What you'll do#
- Assist with technical duties and daily transportation department activities.
- Work on-site under a Construction Manager to document inspection activities.
- Research and solve problems encountered in the field.
- Verify that work conforms to project plans and specifications.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree program for Civil Engineering or a similar field.
- A focus in Transportation Practice is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and present project documentation effectively.

- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The position is based on-site in Madison, Wisconsin, or Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
