About the role#
Michael Baker International is hiring a Highways Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position is based in our Chicago, Illinois office. You will work on-site under the direction of a Project Engineer or Project Manager to support our local Highways department.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Highways team with daily technical duties.
- Support design projects and related engineering tasks.
- Work under the guidance of experienced Project Engineers and Managers.
What you'll need#
- You are currently working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a similar program.
- A focus in Transportation engineering is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in organizing and presenting project documentation.
