About the role#
Michael Baker International is hiring a Civil Engineering Intern for our 2027 Intern Rotational Program in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. You will support our surface transportation departments, including highway, bridge, traffic, environmental, survey, and construction teams. The program involves rotating through each department for 2 to 3 weeks at a time. You will work alongside Professional Engineers, Project Managers, and other design professionals on local and statewide projects.
What you'll do#
- Join a team within various transportation departments.
- Perform basic to moderate design work and calculations.
- Prepare basic project reports.
- Assist with data collection, input, verification, and manipulation.
- Perform CADD drafting.
- Attend field visits to project sites.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor degree in civil engineering at an accredited school.
- Completed at least 2 years of coursework and in good academic standing.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and self-motivate with intermittent supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with PDF manipulation tools like Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam.
- A valid U.S. driver's license.
- Working knowledge of MicroStation CADD software is preferred.
