About the role#
The Subways Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) Emerging Talent Intern will support the Operating Initiatives and Project Coordination division. This role focuses on the development, maintenance, and operational readiness of CBTC systems, which are critical to subway service delivery. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Analyze data produced by CBTC systems to support diagnostic insights.
- Investigate CBTC-related train incidents to determine root causes.
- Develop data pipelines for processing technical and diagnostic information.
- Create dashboards to visualize and analyze CBTC diagnostic data.
- Track open issues to assist in resolution and strategic discussions with suppliers.
- Maintain stakeholder matrices and support project management tasks, including scheduling and interdependency analysis.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program (minimum 2.5 GPA) or graduate program (minimum 2.8 GPA).
- Preferred majors include Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or Urban Planning.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and maintain attention to detail.
- Authorization to work in the United States.

- Compensation: $19.00 per hour for undergraduate students, $21.00 per hour for graduate students.
