Business Process Improvement/System Support Analyst, Emerging Talent Intern

About the role#

The Business Process Improvement/System Support Unit manages enterprise workforce management and timekeeping systems for approximately 30,000 employees across the Department of Subways. This internship focuses on supporting system enhancements, data management, and user support for critical operational tools.

What you'll do#

• Document and track post-implementation issues for the digitized exception claim form, including logging user issues and coordinating resolutions.
• Compile and analyze user feedback on the digitized overtime slip process to identify recurring issues and recommend refinements.
• Assist with requirements documentation for the Construction Flagging Employee Automation Pick feature within the MTA Insight App.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the Construction Flagging Automated Pick process, including test case preparation, tracking, and issue logging.
• Provide post-production user support for the Construction Flagging Automation Pick by capturing and escalating field issues.
• Assist with requirements documentation for new data fields within the UTA database and support the entry of TA account numbers.
• Perform general administrative tasks to support unit operations.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate program (Business Administration or Public Health preferred) with at least a 2.5 GPA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks effectively, and maintain a high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
