Information Technology, Emerging Talent Intern

About the role#

The Information Technology Emerging Talent Intern will support the SIR IT & EAM department in delivering secure and responsive technology services. This role involves hands-on technical support, hardware deployment, and system maintenance to ensure operational efficiency for internal users.

What you'll do#

• Deploy hardware including PCs, desk phones, and mobile devices, ensuring users have access to corporate email, LAN, printers, and necessary software.
• Manage hardware and software inventory and life cycles.
• Submit and coordinate Service Now tickets with various IT teams to resolve technical issues.
• Troubleshoot device syncing, network connectivity, and system performance issues.
• Coordinate with the DOS EAM support team to manage access to HxGN and ArcGIS systems.
• Perform system verification, document findings in logs, and provide on-site technical support at remote facilities.
• Assist with custom database development and maintenance to streamline departmental workflows.
• Support security and CIS systems by providing timely technical assistance and managing audio/video files for security partners.

What you'll need#

• Currently matriculated in an undergraduate (minimum 2.5 GPA) or graduate (minimum 2.8 GPA) program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of related experience in Network Engineering/Administration or Windows System Administration.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while managing tasks effectively under pressure.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

• Modality: On-site, full-time.
• Compensation: $19.00/hour for undergraduates; $21.00/hour for graduates.
