About the role#
The Power Department at New York City Transit manages the electrical and third rail systems that supply traction power to the transit network. As an Emerging Talent Intern, you will support the department in maintaining safe and reliable electrical service by analyzing operational data, automating workflows, and building reporting tools.
What you'll do#
- Develop interactive Power BI dashboards to visualize operational and performance data.
- Analyze departmental data to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
- Prepare and present data findings to management in a clear, actionable format.
- Build automated workflows using Power Automate to streamline daily processes.
- Maintain and enhance SharePoint sites for improved information access.
- Document data procedures, workflows, and project updates.
- Perform routine data quality checks to ensure report accuracy and consistency.
- Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and management on operational projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate Computer Science program or a related field with at least a 2.5 GPA.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Authorization to work in the United States at the time of application.

- Compensation: $19.00 per hour for undergraduate students.
