About the role#
The Budget Support intern will join the Department of Buses to assist with financial reporting, data analysis, and the development of performance dashboards. This role involves working closely with financial and operational data to support budget management and staffing analysis for a large-scale transit operation.
What you'll do#
- Create and maintain reporting dashboards to track key metrics.
- Perform labor costing and overtime decomposition reporting.
- Conduct variance analysis on pay hours and budget OTPS.
- Cross-check weekly employee availability data and monthly financial reports for accuracy.
- Assist in the development of training materials for hourly and supervisory employees.
- Participate in broader financial and operational analysis projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate (minimum 2.5 GPA) or graduate (minimum 2.8 GPA) program.
- Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.

- Compensation: $19.00 per hour for undergraduates; $21.00 per hour for graduate students.
