About the role#
Metropolitan Family Services is hiring a part-time Mental Health Practitioner Intern to join the team in Merrionette Park. This is a paid internship position that requires on-site work.
What you'll do#
- Perform in-depth assessments, clinical formulations, and develop strengths-based treatment plans.
- Provide individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and case management.
- Conduct open access sessions as assigned.
- Use evidence-based treatment interventions.
- Coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team of professionals.
- Identify community conditions that affect clients and connect them to resources or financial assistance.
- Maintain accurate client records and complete required reporting.
- Work effectively with a diverse staff and service population.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a master's degree program for Social Work or Counseling at an accredited university.
- A personal vehicle.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as assigned.
- Ability to work well with diverse groups and individuals.
