About the role#
As a Work Based Learning Student Intern, you will apply the knowledge and skills gained in your pathway courses to perform entry-level duties across various departments. You will work under the direct supervision of a department mentor to gain practical experience and exhibit professional competencies in a real-world setting.
What you'll do#
- Perform entry-level tasks and duties as identified in your specific work plan.
- Operate standard office equipment, including computers and assigned software.
- Follow both verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
- Organize your work tasks to meet all assigned deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with your team in both oral and written formats.
- Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information.
- Complete OSHA 10 General Industry training and employability modules before your start date.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least two pathway courses or courses aligned to your work placement.
- A positive recommendation letter from a teacher regarding your self-management and core competencies.
- A current school year attendance record of 90% or higher.
- A clean disciplinary record, specifically no 300-400 offenses in the last two years and no more than two 200-level offenses during the current school year.
- Basic technical skills and an aptitude for learning new technology.
