About the role#
As a Work Based Learning student, you will apply the knowledge and skills gained in your pathway courses to perform entry-level duties. You will work within various departments under the guidance of a department mentor to build professional experience.
What you'll do#
- Perform tasks identified in your specific work plan.
- Follow both verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
- Organize your work tasks and meet all established deadlines.
- Communicate clearly and effectively in writing and during conversations.
- Handle sensitive and privileged information with confidentiality.
- Operate standard office equipment, including computers and assigned software.
- Maintain a positive attitude and professional behavior in the workplace.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least two pathway courses or courses aligned to your work placement.
- A positive recommendation letter from a teacher regarding your self-management and core competencies.
- Completion of OSHA 10 General Industry certification before starting.
- Completion of required employability modules before starting.
- A current school year attendance record of 90% or higher.
- A clean disciplinary record, including no 300-400 offenses in the last two years and no more than two 200 level offenses during the current school year.
- Basic technical skills and an aptitude for learning new technology.
