About the role#
The Thermal Treat Maintenance Engineering Intern role provides an opportunity to gain practical experience within a manufacturing environment. You will work on real equipment and maintenance challenges while observing how engineering decisions influence safety, production uptime, and project costs. This internship focuses on transitioning from academic theory to industrial application through collaboration with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams.
What you'll do#
- Develop a practical understanding of industrial mechanical and electrical systems by reviewing drawings, schematics, and OEM documentation.
- Apply engineering problem solving to address real equipment, maintenance, and reliability challenges.
- Gain exposure to business fundamentals including project planning, budgeting considerations, and resource prioritization.
- Learn how cross functional teams collaborate to achieve business goals.
- Build professional communication skills while working in a team environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university.
- Completion of at least 30 credit hours by the end of the spring 2027 semester.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- Preferred majors include Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
