About the role#
The Maintenance Engineering & Reliability Intern will gain hands-on experience by supporting equipment maintenance and reliability projects within a manufacturing environment. This full-time position provides exposure to the steel-making process while allowing students to apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering challenges.
What you'll do#
- Assist with equipment design changes.
- Create and revise equipment drawings.
- Review functional equipment failures to determine root causes.
- Evaluate and review preventive maintenance tasks.
- Aid in the creation of job plans.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university.
- Completion of at least 30 credit hours by the end of the spring 2027 semester.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- Preferred majors include Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD.

- Term: Summer 2027.

- Compensation: Paid position ($19.25 to $33.50 per hour depending on major, degree type, and class status).
