About the role#
Medtronic is seeking Software Engineering Interns for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid internship where students contribute to teams across software development, AI and data science, cloud, quality, DevOps, systems, testing, and firmware engineering. Interns engage in 10 to 11 weeks of professional experience designed to support growth and impact within the medical technology field.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, test, debug, and implement software components, tools, and utilities.
- Support the development and execution of cloud strategy through design, planning, and integration.
- Evaluate software systems, including requirements, design, documentation, and validation.
- Conduct requirements gathering and analysis to understand software domains and hardware interfaces.
- Develop and communicate descriptive and predictive insights using integrated software algorithms.
- Develop and execute test plans and scripts to detect issues in applications and systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Ability to work full time, 40 hours per week, for the duration of the internship.
- Experience with programming languages or technical tools such as C++, Java, Python, or SQL.
- Current authorization to work in the United States. Please note that Medtronic does not provide work authorization sponsorship for internship positions.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position requiring a minimum of 4 days per week in the office.
- Opportunities are available in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, Tennessee, and Texas.
- Candidates must reside in the United States for the duration of the internship.
