About the role#
Medtronic is offering a full-time, paid Software Engineering internship for Summer 2027. This 10 to 11-week program places interns within experienced teams across software development, AI and data science, cloud, quality, DevOps, systems, testing, and firmware engineering. Interns contribute to projects that support the development of medical technologies.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, test, debug, and implement software components, tools, and utilities.
- Support the development and execution of cloud strategy, including design, planning, and integration.
- Evaluate software systems activities, including requirements, design, documentation, integration, and validation.
- Conduct requirements gathering and analysis to understand software domains, hardware interfaces, and system characteristics.
- Develop and communicate descriptive and predictive insights using integrated software algorithms.
- Develop and execute test plans and scripts to detect problems in applications and systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Ability to work full time, 40 hours per week, for the duration of the internship.
- Experience with programming languages or technical tools such as C++, Java, Python, or SQL.
- Currently authorized to work in the United States. Please note that Medtronic does not provide work authorization sponsorship for this internship.
Location & details#
- Work Modality: This position is on-site, requiring a minimum of 4 days per week in the office.
- Locations: Opportunities are available in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, Tennessee, and Texas.
