About the role#

Us Weekly is seeking an intern for the summer of 2026 to support the editorial team. This role offers the opportunity to gain experience in entertainment media by collaborating directly with reporters and editors to contribute to daily digital coverage.

What you'll do#

• Research upcoming stories and support daily coverage, features, and breaking news.
• Assist with the interview process, including recording, research, and transcribing with quick turnaround times.
• Locate and prepare creative assets, such as photos and videos, for digital writers.
• Participate in editorial brainstorm sessions for Us Weekly digital.
• Create content and stories as needed.
• Support the on-site event coverage team.
• Maintain and improve internal databases.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment or background in Journalism, Communications, or Media Studies.
• Experience writing and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
• A deep interest in pop culture.
• Ability to work effectively in a newsroom environment with attention to detail.
• Experience handling interviews is strongly encouraged.

Location & details#

• Location: New York, New York.
• Term: Summer 2026 (June 1 to September 1).
• Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
• Compensation: $20 per hour.
