About the role#
The Packaging Engineer Intern supports the team in the development, testing, and improvement of packaging systems for food manufacturing. You will gain hands-on experience with packaging materials, equipment, and project management while working directly within our production operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the development and validation of packaging materials and formats.
- Conduct package performance testing in a lab setting.
- Collect, analyze, and report on packaging performance data.
- Support packaging trials and line testing activities.
- Investigate root causes for packaging defects and non-conforming materials.
- Support sustainability initiatives through packaging waste reduction projects.
- Review packaging specifications and technical drawings for accuracy.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor Degree in Packaging Engineering, Packaging Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Mechanical aptitude and an interest in manufacturing equipment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
