About the role#
The Quality Lab Intern will assist with monitoring quality control, analytical testing, and environmental testing. You will help coordinate laboratory paperwork and ensure our standards are met throughout the manufacturing process.
What you'll do#
- Perform chemical and microbiological testing on ingredients, bulk cheese, finished products, equipment, and the plant environment.
- Conduct environmental swabbing and participate in proficiency testing.
- Assist with pH, salt, moisture, and fat analyses.
- Perform quality melts on cheese blends and finished products.
- Maintain lab supply inventory and ensure equipment calibration remains accurate.
- Develop and distribute Certificates of Analysis.
- Investigate bulk and customer complaints.
- Help the Quality Lab Technician maintain laboratory SOPs.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program for Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and analytical ability.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions regarding quality standards.
- Knowledge of GMP requirements.
- Willingness to learn food standard methods and AOAC-approved methods for cheese testing.
- Previous experience in a laboratory or food manufacturing setting is preferred.

- This is a full-time, paid internship based in Plymouth, Wisconsin.
- The role is on-site for the Summer 2027 term.
