About the role#
The Clean Transportation Fellow supports the growth of the clean energy industry in Massachusetts. You will work with the Clean Transportation Team to help the Commonwealth reach its climate goals through pilot projects, grant programs, and stakeholder engagement. This role focuses on increasing access to clean transportation technology and reducing air quality burdens for underserved communities. You will gain experience in the clean energy sector, regulatory structures, and policy development while working in a collaborative environment.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate on clean transportation pilot and demonstration projects ranging from fleet electrification to electric bikes.
- Conduct research, analyze best practices, and perform data visualization.
- Manage grant project administration and assist with Public Records Requests.
- Create targeted reports, memos, letters, graphics, and maps.
- Organize and update project timelines, databases, and webpages.
- Manage inbound program email inquiries.
- Assist with event planning, including tabling and presenting at external gatherings.
- Support marketing efforts by creating slide decks, blog posts, and promotional materials.
- Participate in meetings, roundtables, and conferences to support team initiatives.
- Take meeting minutes and track follow-up tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student (sophomore or higher) or graduate student.
- Recent graduates or those early in their career are also welcome to apply.
- Pursuing a degree in science, environmental science, business administration, public policy, or a related field.
- Genuine interest in clean energy and environmental sustainability.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and writing skills.
- Proactive approach with high attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous deadlines.
- Basic knowledge of clean energy.
- Experience with Excel, ArcGIS Pro, or Tableau is preferred.
- Experience working with the public is a plus.

- Location: Boston, Massachusetts.
- Status: Full-time, paid fellowship at $20 per hour.
- Modality: On-site.
- Travel: Ability to occasionally travel within the metropolitan Boston area and throughout Massachusetts is required.
