About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Spring 2027 based at our production facility in Roanoke, Virginia. You will work Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm. You will gain hands-on experience in a window and door manufacturing environment by working alongside our engineering, production, quality, maintenance, and safety teams.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers in supporting daily manufacturing operations.
- Observe processes to identify improvement opportunities and help document standard operating procedures.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives, including kaizen events and root-cause analysis (A3).
- Gather production and quality data from manufacturing systems.
- Create reports, charts, and presentations to support project metrics and decision-making.
- Assist with cost-savings calculations for engineering projects.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Previous manufacturing, technical, or internship experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts and experience using CAD software.
- Knowledge of data analysis tools, statistical methods, and project-based coursework.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
