About the role#
The AI Developer Intern supports the evaluation, development, and implementation of artificial intelligence solutions to improve business operations. You will work alongside our IT and MIS teams to gain hands-on experience with emerging technologies. This role involves contributing to active projects while learning how AI tools can solve real business problems.
What you'll do#
- Research, prototype, and evaluate AI tools, models, and frameworks.
- Design, test, and deploy AI-powered features and internal applications.
- Collect and clean data for machine learning workflows.
- Build and refine prompts, pipelines, and integrations for company systems.
- Analyze the performance and accuracy of AI solutions.
- Write user guides and training materials for new tools.
- Collaborate with business and operations teams to identify efficiency opportunities.
- Present project findings and demonstrations to mentors and management.
- Assist with software installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Ensure all work complies with data privacy and security standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge in at least one programming language.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to take ownership of tasks.
- It is helpful if you have exposure to machine learning through coursework, hackathons, or personal projects, familiarity with APIs and large language models, or experience with data analysis.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid 12-week internship for Summer 2027.
- The position is 100% on-site at our corporate headquarters in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
- Typical working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
