About the role#
As an Auto Body Tech Intern, you will support the maintenance of company vehicles, scissor and man lifts, and bakery equipment. You will work alongside lead and level 2 technicians to ensure our equipment remains in top condition through painting, repair, and detailing. This role is based in Pennsylvania and takes place during the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Disassemble and reassemble vehicle interiors and exteriors for painting.
- Repair or replace panels made of steel, aluminum, fiberglass, plastic, and wood.
- Perform soda and sand blasting techniques and maintain the equipment.
- Operate tools including D/A sanders, in-line files, and air hammers or chisels.
- Apply paint using airless sprayers, rollers, or brushes.
- Assist with final prep work such as sanding, masking, washing, and tacking.
- Perform vehicle detailing, including cleaning, waxing, and buffing.
- Maintain paint and blasting booths by changing filters.
- Follow safety standards, food safety regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Keep your work area clean and organized.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university program majoring in Auto Body or Vehicle Mechanics.
- Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
- Proficiency in intermediate math.
- Ability to research and interpret specifications for goods and services, supplier needs, and risk assessments.
