About the role#
Powerex-Iwata Air Technology Inc. is seeking an Industrial Engineer Co-op for the Winter 2027 term. This position is based in Harrison, Ohio, and requires working on-site in office, engineering lab, and manufacturing environments. You will support our Operations and Quality teams to gain hands-on experience with industrial engineering practices, focusing on operational efficiency and quality standards.
What you'll do#
- Analyze existing manufacturing and operational processes to identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with team members to develop, document, and implement process enhancements.
- Collect and analyze data regarding operational performance and quality metrics.
- Use statistical and engineering tools to support data-driven decision-making.
- Assist in developing and implementing quality control procedures and standards.
- Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving for quality issues.
- Support the Quality Assurance team with inspections and audits.
- Engage with cross-functional project teams.
- Support continuous improvement efforts, including cost reduction and the implementation of Lean methodologies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree program.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with engineering software.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- A detail-oriented and proactive approach to problem-solving.
