About the role#
Marine Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for the summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Malvern, Pennsylvania. You will work under the direction of project engineers to gain experience in the infrastructure and construction industry.
What you'll do#
- Conduct field inspections and perform data reduction.
- Prepare reports, studies, and related project documents.
- Perform engineering analyses and design tasks.
- Review engineering plans and reports.
- Participate in technical review meetings with engineering and planning staff.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a civil engineering student.
- Knowledge of higher-level mathematics including trigonometry, algebra, geometry, and calculus.
- Knowledge of construction practices, such as concrete, steel, carpentry, and welding.
- Proficiency in technical writing and basic computer functions like Microsoft Office.
- Ability to define problems, collect and interpret data, and evaluate facts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to keep current with new engineering developments.
- If performing fieldwork, you must hold medical certifications in bloodborne pathogens, first aid, CPR, and emergency oxygen administration.
- A curriculum focus in structural or geotechnical engineering is preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience with engineering software is preferred.
