About the role#
Marine Solutions, Inc. is hiring a Civil Engineer Intern to work on infrastructure and construction projects. You will work under the direction of higher-level engineers who provide guidance and review your work. This position is a full-time, paid internship based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It follows a rolling term and requires on-site work.
What you'll do#
- Perform inspections under the direction of senior engineering staff.
- Prepare reports, studies, and related technical documents.
- Review engineering plans and documentation.
- Participate in technical review meetings with engineering and planning teams.
- Assist with data reduction and engineering analyses and design.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering program, with a preference for structural or geotechnical focus.
- Proficiency in higher-level mathematics including trigonometry, algebra, geometry, and calculus.
- Knowledge of construction practices such as concrete, steel, carpentry, and welding.
- Ability to define problems, interpret data, and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work as a self-starter.
- Proficiency in technical writing and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Current medical certifications in bloodborne pathogens, first aid, CPR, and emergency oxygen administration if you perform fieldwork.
- Preferred skills include AutoCAD proficiency and experience with engineering software.

- Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee.
- Modality: On-site.
- Pay: $21 to $23 per hour, depending on education and experience.
