As an Electrical Engineering intern or co-op at a Marathon refinery, you will gain hands-on experience in the oil and gas industry. You will work alongside professionals who manage specific portions of the refining process, gaining insight into how various engineering disciplines function as a cohesive team. You will become familiar with industry codes and best practices while developing your written and verbal presentation skills in a professional environment.
What you'll do#
- Project Engineering: Develop project management skills, including scope alignment, cost and schedule development, and teamwork across multiple engineering phases.
- Reliability Engineering: Analyze equipment failures and develop solutions for recurring difficulties, including submitting Project Request Forms and understanding maintenance strategies.
- Technical Support: Assist area teams with electrical and instrumentation issues, utilize electrical analysis software, and learn about Refinery Safety Instrumented Systems.
- Process Control: Support process control systems, including troubleshooting power supply problems, control system programming, hardware and software lifecycle replacement, and monitoring performance metrics.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering degree program.
- Strong academic performance.
- A valid driver's license.
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time, indefinite basis without the need for visa sponsorship.
- Availability for multiple work terms is preferred.
