About the role#
As an Electrical Engineering intern or co-op at a Marathon refinery, you will gain experience with industry codes, best practices, and engineering workflows. You will work alongside professionals to understand how a refinery operates and how different engineering disciplines collaborate. Most interns have the opportunity to work in multiple areas of the refinery to build a broad understanding of the plant. This role is a full-time, paid position for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
Depending on your specific assignment, you may focus on project engineering, reliability, or process control. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing project management skills, including scope alignment and cost and schedule development.
- Analyzing equipment failures and creating solutions for recurring difficulties.
- Running Arc Flash studies for the power system.
- Troubleshooting system power supply problems and control system programming.
- Installing and troubleshooting communication networks while monitoring control system performance metrics.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering degree program.
- A strong academic record.
- A valid driver's license.
- Availability for multiple work terms is preferred.

This is an on-site position for Summer 2027.
