About the role#
Marathon Petroleum Corporation provides internship and co-op opportunities for students seeking hands-on experience in the energy industry. You will work alongside experienced professionals as a contributing member of a team, supporting midstream initiatives for Natural Gas and Natural Gas Liquids services.
What you'll do#
- Develop project scopes, including estimating, scheduling, design, contractor engagement, and construction oversight.
- Support DOT-regulated pipeline integrity and maintenance programs.
- Perform field work at pipelines, compressor stations, pump stations, gas processing plants, and related facilities.
- Assist with engineering initiatives in areas such as automation, controls, electrical, process optimization, operations, reliability, corrosion, and measurement services.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Petroleum, Natural Gas, or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong academic performance.
- Ability to work on-site 40 hours per week.
- A valid driver's license for work-related travel and reliable transportation to the job site.
- Capacity to spend time in the field monitoring and managing activities.
- Authorization to work in the United States, including those requiring employer sponsorship.
