About the role#
Marathon Petroleum Corporation offers Summer 2027 internship and co-op opportunities for high-performing college students. You will work alongside experienced professionals as a contributing member of a team. These roles are paid, full-time positions requiring 40 hours of work per week. Some travel may be required depending on your specific placement.
What you'll do#
Depending on your department placement, you will engage in hands-on work such as:
- Scheduling the delivery of products, feedstocks, and biofuels by pipeline or waterborne transportation.
- Monitoring terminal and refinery inventories to support supply chain efficiency.
- Collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data to uncover trends and generate insights.
- Assisting the marketing team with market analysis, reports, and strategy development.
- Managing operational and project-related tasks, including coordination across departments.
- Supporting commercial systems and applications through troubleshooting and user support.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program or higher.
- Strong academic performance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship.
- Reliable transportation to and from your work location.
- Majors in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Data Science are preferred.
- Military experience is considered a plus.
