About the role#
This Automation Engineering Co-Op position at Norplas Industries Inc. offers students the chance to work alongside engineers and technicians in a manufacturing environment. You will gain hands-on experience with industrial automation, robotics, and controls systems while supporting production operations.
What you'll do#
- Support day-to-day production by troubleshooting equipment and monitoring performance.
- Learn to operate and support PLC-controlled equipment, robotics, vision systems, and industrial networks.
- Assist with controls system testing, verification, and equipment documentation.
- Participate in automation upgrades, new equipment installations, and commissioning.
- Support Factory of the Future projects and Industry 4.0 technology deployments.
- Help identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, and productivity through kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with root cause analysis and data collection projects.
- Maintain equipment records, controls backups, and standardization efforts.
What you'll need#
- You must be a student currently enrolled in a degree program.
- Preferred fields of study include Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
