Macy's 2026 Supply Chain Internship, Operations

About the role#

The Supply Chain Internship is an 8-week program designed to provide hands-on experience within Macy's end-to-end supply chain network. Working as part of the Process Engineering team at a fulfillment center, interns support operations by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and improve efficiency. This role involves cross-functional collaboration with engineers and operations staff to implement solutions and document best practices.

What you'll do#

• Collect and analyze data regarding workflow efficiency, labor utilization, and equipment performance.
• Support the development and testing of process improvements.
• Collaborate with engineers and operations staff to implement solutions.
• Document best practices using visual tools such as process maps and standard operating procedures.
• Engage in professional development through hands-on learning, structured workshops, and collaborative projects.
• Rotate through various functions of the supply chain facility and work alongside team members.
• Utilize analytic tools and key performance indicators to complete an internship project and support business recommendations.
• Acquire experience with order management, transportation management, and warehouse management systems.

What you'll need#

• Rising Seniors pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or Logistics.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Strong mathematical skills with the ability to apply concepts of profitability and statistical inference.
• Ability to conduct thorough analysis to support strategy and identify opportunities for efficiency gains.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence others.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting at least 30 lbs, constant moving, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders, and reaching above eye level.
