Macy's 2026 Summer Internship, Store Management

About the role#

The Store Management Internship is an 8-week, paid, on-site program designed to provide exposure to the various facets of retail leadership. Participants will gain experience in customer service, merchandising, business analysis, visual presentation, store operations, and colleague development. This program serves as an introduction to retail strategy and store management, with the potential for successful interns to be considered for the Store Management Executive Development Program (EDP) following graduation.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with the Manager of Sales & Customer Experience to learn leadership best practices and receive constructive feedback.
• Shadow the Managers of Operations and Visual Merchandising to plan and execute product merchandising initiatives.
• Engage with leadership across various business functions within the store and region.
• Develop a customer-focused environment by coaching and training colleagues.
• Analyze business trends with partners to select merchandise that meets customer needs.
• Explore retail strategies through business analysis and project-based work.
• Foster an environment of acceptance and respect by building connections with colleagues and customers.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in your junior year of a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited university.
• A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
• All majors are welcome to apply.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with a self-motivated and results-driven approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to sit, talk, and hear, with occasional requirements to move about the workplace, reach, and handle objects.
