Macy's 2026 Supply Chain Internship, Operations

About the role#

The Supply Chain Internship provides exposure to the end-to-end supply chain network. Working within a fulfillment center, interns engage in cross-functional collaboration and hands-on projects. This 8-week program focuses on identifying opportunities to streamline operations, reduce waste, and improve workflow efficiency, labor utilization, and equipment performance. Interns gain experience with warehouse, transportation, and order management systems while participating in professional development workshops and networking opportunities.

What you'll do#

• Rotate through various functions of a supply chain facility.
• Collect and analyze data regarding workflow, labor, and equipment performance.
• Use analytical tools and key performance indicators to complete a project and support business recommendations.
• Collaborate with engineers and operations staff to test and implement process improvements.
• Document best practices using process maps and standard operating procedures.
• Manage the full lifecycle of assigned projects independently and as part of a team.

What you'll need#

• Current status as a rising senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically to address complex challenges.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, vlookups) preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence others.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 30 lbs, standing for extended periods, and navigating warehouse environments involving ladders, kneeling, and crouching.
