Macy's 2026 Supply Chain Internship, Operations

About the role#

The Supply Chain Operations intern will gain exposure to Macy’s end-to-end supply chain network through an 8-week program. Working within a fulfillment center, you will assist the Process Engineering team in identifying opportunities to streamline operations, reduce waste, and improve efficiency. This role involves data collection, workflow analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to support business improvements.

What you'll do#

• Engage in professional development through hands-on learning, structured workshops, and collaborative projects.
• Foster relationships with fellow interns, business leaders, and team members.
• Rotate through each function of a supply chain facility, working side by side with colleagues.
• Utilize analytic tools, metrics, and key performance indicators to complete an internship project and support recommendations for business improvement.
• Acquire experience in utilizing technology, including order management, transportation management, and warehouse management systems.
• Identify opportunities for functional improvement in collaboration with fellow interns.
• Demonstrate strong program management skills to oversee the entire lifecycle of projects.
• Work within deadlines, both independently and as part of a team, while ensuring regular attendance and punctuality.

What you'll need#

• Rising Seniors pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or Mathematics with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically to solve complex challenges.
• Excellent mathematical skills, including the ability to apply concepts of profitability and statistical inference to practical situations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including storytelling and presentation abilities.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks and deliverables.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills preferred.
• Ability to multitask and collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to run and interpret reports to drive informed decision-making.
• Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting at least 30 lbs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders, and remaining in a stationary position for extended periods.
