About the role#
The Store Management Internship is an 8-week, paid, on-site program designed to provide exposure to the operations of a large-scale retail department store. Interns gain experience in customer service, merchandising, business analysis, visual presentation, store operations, human resources, and asset protection. This program serves as an opportunity to evaluate career fit, with the potential for high-performing interns to be considered for the Store Management Executive Development Program (EDP) after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Manager of Sales & Customer Experience to gain leadership insights and receive constructive feedback.
- Shadow managers in operations and visual merchandising to plan and execute product initiatives.
- Engage with leaders across various business functions within the store and region.
- Develop a customer-focused selling environment by coaching and training colleagues.
- Analyze business trends to select merchandise that meets customer needs and explore retail strategies.
- Complete a project and presentation to propose new ideas for business growth to store leadership.
- Foster an environment of respect and build connections with colleagues and customers.
What you'll need#
- Currently in your junior year of an accredited bachelor’s degree program.
- A cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred; all majors are considered.
- Self-motivated with a positive, results-driven attitude.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with a passion for engaging with people.
- Ability to solve problems and execute business plans.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the role, including sitting, using hands to handle merchandise, and moving about the workplace.
