Macy's 2026 Summer Internship, Store Management

About the role#

The Store Management Internship is an 8-week, paid, on-site program providing exposure to the core functions of retail leadership. Interns work within a store environment to gain experience in customer service, merchandising, business analysis, operations, and colleague development. This program serves as a potential pathway to the Store Management Executive Development Program (EDP) upon graduation.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with the Manager of Sales & Customer Experience to gain insights into leadership best practices and receive continuous feedback.
• Shadow managers to plan and execute product merchandising initiatives.
• Engage with leaders across various business functions within the store and region.
• Develop a customer-focused selling environment by coaching and training colleagues.
• Support daily store operations and analyze business trends to select merchandise that meets customer needs.
• Explore retail strategies through business analysis and project-based work.
• Present a final project to store leadership proposing ideas for business growth.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a junior working toward a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• A cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred.
• Majors in Business Administration, Marketing, or Human Resources are relevant to this role.
• Sincere passion for engaging with people and strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated business acumen and a results-driven approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as moving about the workplace, reaching, and handling merchandise.

• Term: Summer 2026 (June 8 through August 1, 2026).
• Modality: Full-time, on-site.
• Compensation: This is a paid internship.
