Macy's 2026 Summer Internship, Store management

About the role#

The Store Management Internship Program provides an 8-week, paid, on-site experience focused on the core functions of retail leadership. Interns gain exposure to customer service, merchandising, business analysis, visual presentation, store operations, and human resources. You will work within a store leadership team to identify business challenges and contribute to strategic solutions.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with the Manager of Sales & Customer Experience to gain leadership insights and receive constructive feedback.
• Support daily store operations by training and coaching colleagues to ensure smooth execution.
• Shadow managers of operations and visual merchandising to plan and execute initiatives that drive performance.
• Analyze business trends with partners to select merchandise that meets customer needs.
• Engage with leaders across store and regional business functions to broaden your perspective.
• Develop and present a project to store leadership proposing strategies for business growth.

What you'll need#

• Status as a rising senior enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program with one year of study remaining.
• A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical capability to perform tasks including lifting at least 30 lbs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders, and remaining in a stationary position for at least two hours.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to learning and collaboration.
