Macy's 2026 Summer Internship, Store Management

About the role#

The Store Management Internship is an 8-week paid program providing exposure to the leadership of a retail department store. Interns gain experience in customer service, merchandising, business analysis, visual presentation, store operations, and colleague development. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity taking place in Summer 2026.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with the Manager of Sales & Customer Experience to gain insights into leadership best practices and receive constructive feedback.
• Shadow the Managers of Operations and Visual Merchandising to plan and execute merchandising initiatives.
• Engage with leaders across store and regional business functions to broaden your perspective.
• Learn to create a customer-focused selling environment by coaching and developing colleagues.
• Support daily store operations by training colleagues to ensure smooth execution.
• Analyze business trends to select merchandise and apply retail strategies.
• Contribute to a performance-driven team and demonstrate learning through a final project and presentation.

What you'll need#

• Rising seniors enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program with one year remaining and a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Relevant majors include Business Administration, Marketing, and Human Resources.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting at least 30 lbs, constant movement, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
• Strong communication skills, business acumen, and a proactive approach to learning.
