Macy's 2026 Summer Internship, Store Management

About the role#

The Store Management Internship is an 8-week paid, full-time program providing exposure to all facets of retail leadership. Interns work on-site to learn about customer service, merchandising, business analysis, store operations, and colleague development. You will join a store leadership team to gain firsthand experience in the strategies that drive a multi-million-dollar retail business.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with the Manager of Sales & Customer Experience to learn leadership best practices and receive constructive feedback.
• Shadow the Managers of Operations and Visual Merchandising to plan and execute merchandising initiatives.
• Support daily store operations by training and coaching colleagues to ensure smooth execution.
• Analyze business trends with partners to select merchandise that meets customer needs.
• Engage with leaders across store and regional business functions to broaden your perspective.
• Contribute to a project and presentation that proposes business growth strategies to store leadership.

What you'll need#

• Status as a rising senior enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program with one year remaining.
• A minimum GPA of 3.0.
• All majors are considered, including Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Human Resources, and Psychology.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting at least 30 lbs, constant moving, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
