Macy's 2026 Summer Internship, Store Management

About the role#

This 8-week paid internship provides exposure to the core operations of a retail department store, including customer service, merchandising, business analysis, and store operations. The program runs from June 8 through August 1, 2026, and offers an opportunity to gain experience in leadership and retail strategy. Successful completion of the program may lead to an offer for the Store Management Executive Development Program (EDP) trainee role upon graduation.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with the Manager of Sales & Customer Experience to gain insights into leadership practices and receive constructive feedback.
• Shadow the Managers of Operations and Visual Merchandising to plan and execute product merchandising initiatives.
• Engage with leadership across various business functions within the store and region.
• Develop a customer-focused environment by coaching and training colleagues.
• Analyze business trends with partners to select merchandise that meets customer needs.
• Support daily store operations and demonstrate learning through a final project and presentation proposing ideas for business growth.

What you'll need#

• You must be in your junior year of an accredited bachelor’s degree program.
• A cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher is preferred.
• All majors are welcome to apply.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as sitting, talking, hearing, and using hands to handle or feel objects; may require moving about the workplace.
