Macy's 2026 Summer Internship, Store Management

About the role#

The Store Management Internship is an 8-week, paid, on-site program designed to provide exposure to the leadership and operations of a retail department store. Interns gain experience in customer service, merchandising, business analysis, visual presentation, store operations, and colleague development. The program runs from June 8 through August 1, 2026. Successful completion of the internship may lead to an offer to join the Store Management Executive Development Program (EDP) after graduation.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with the Manager of Sales & Customer Experience to learn leadership best practices and receive constructive feedback.
• Shadow Managers of Operations and Visual Merchandising to plan and execute product merchandising initiatives.
• Develop a customer-focused selling environment by coaching and training colleagues.
• Analyze business trends with partners to select merchandise that meets customer needs.
• Engage with leaders across various business functions and regions.
• Complete a project and presentation, consulting with store leadership to propose ideas for business growth.

What you'll need#

• Currently in your junior year of a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited university.
• A cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred.
• All majors are considered, including Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, and Psychology.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work on-site and perform physical tasks such as moving about the workplace, reaching, and handling objects.
