Macy's 2026 Summer Internship, Store Management

About the role#

The Store Management Internship is an 8-week paid, on-site program designed to provide exposure to the core functions of retail leadership. Participants will gain experience in customer service, merchandising, business analysis, visual presentation, store operations, and colleague development. The program runs from June 8 through August 1, 2026.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with the Manager of Sales & Customer Experience to learn leadership best practices and receive constructive feedback.
• Shadow Managers of Operations and Visual Merchandising to plan and execute product merchandising initiatives.
• Engage with leaders across various business functions within the store and region.
• Develop a customer-focused selling environment by coaching and training team members.
• Analyze business trends with partners to select merchandise that meets customer needs.
• Explore retail strategies through business analysis and propose new ideas for growth through a final project and presentation.

What you'll need#

• Currently in your junior year of a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited university.
• A cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred.
• All majors are considered, with interest in Business Administration, Marketing, or Communications.
• Self-motivation, a positive attitude, and a sincere passion for engaging with people.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the role, including sitting, standing, and moving about the workplace.
