Macy's 2026 Summer Internship - Product Development

About the role#

The 8-week Product Development summer internship provides exposure to the development of Macy's private label brands. Based in the Supply Chain division, this program focuses on assortment execution, brand management, and achieving cost and margin targets. Interns gain hands-on experience by working alongside buying and sourcing teams to translate design intent into approved samples. The program includes professional development through structured workshops, collaborative projects, and networking opportunities with business leaders.

What you'll do#

• Receive professional development through hands-on learning, workshops, and team projects.
• Assist in managing and tracking meeting samples for your assigned area.
• Support the preparation for Mid-Point, Pre-Line, Line Review, and Post Buy Recap meetings.
• Assist in keying and tracking assortment purchase orders throughout the season.
• Work with Product Associates to update the IMU Roll-Up.
• Build relationships with interns, team colleagues, and business leaders.
• Conduct competitive shopping to analyze competitor assortments and review sample execution.
• Assist in creating initial styles within the Product Lifecycle Management and Order Management systems.

What you'll need#

• Junior status (rising Senior) pursuing a Bachelor's degree, with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence others.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills preferred.
• Ability to interpret financial information, apply retail math, and recognize trends.
• Capability to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to organize a broad workload.
