About the role#
The Fund Financial Reporting team manages regulatory reporting for mutual, exchange-traded, pooled, and offshore funds. As an intern, you will join this team to prepare and analyze financial, statistical, and portfolio information. This is a full-time, paid position for the winter term running from January to April 2027.
What you'll do#
- Prepare annual financial statements, Management Reports of Fund Performance, and Quarterly Portfolio Disclosures.
- Review fund tax distribution working papers for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in the preparation of supporting documentation for PFIC filings.
- Review T3 tax returns and related informational returns.
- Improve existing processes through automation, Excel enhancements, or AI tools.
- Coordinate with vendors to produce final documents and manage version control for drafts.
What you'll need#
- You are a registered student in a field such as Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Economics and will return to school after the internship.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with financial statements or International Financial Reporting Standards.
- Strong analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to self-motivate and manage time-sensitive deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
Location & details#
- Location: Greater Toronto Area, Ontario.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with three days per week in the office.
- Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
