About the role#
LPL Financial is seeking a Software Engineering intern to join our team for a 10-week summer program. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and mentors on real-world projects. You will contribute to technology solutions that support financial advisors and their clients while gaining hands-on experience with modern software development, cloud technologies, and AI-powered tools.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, test, and maintain web applications using technologies such as React, Angular, Java, Python.NET, and Node.js.
- Build and support APIs, backend services, databases, and cloud-based applications.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, design, and business teams to deliver solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting activities.
- Follow software development standards for security, performance, and reliability.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience through coursework, internships, hackathons, or personal projects using at least one programming language such as Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript.
- Understanding of software development, testing, debugging, databases, APIs, and secure coding practices.
Location & details#
- Locations: Austin, Texas; Fort Mill, South Carolina; or Charlotte, North Carolina.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: 10 weeks, from June 1, 2027, to August 6, 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- Compensation: Paid position, $25.00 to $30.00 per hour.
