About the role#
LPL Financial is seeking a Platform Engineering Intern to help build, automate, and enhance the enterprise platforms that power advisor-facing applications and internal technology services. You will work alongside experienced engineers to support cloud environments, improve developer productivity, and contribute to the resiliency and performance of enterprise platforms. This is a 10-week, full-time paid internship running from June 1, 2027, to August 6, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve the scalability, reliability, and performance of cloud and platform services.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to standardize and automate technology environments.
- Participate in monitoring, observability, and incident response activities to help ensure platform health and reliability.
- Support cloud operations and platform engineering initiatives focused on availability, resilience, and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to security, governance, risk, and compliance initiatives across cloud and infrastructure ecosystems.
- Assist with CI/CD pipeline enhancements and automation efforts to improve software delivery processes.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and modern infrastructure concepts.
- Ability to work on-site at an LPL primary office location.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to operational excellence.

- Locations: Austin, TX; Fort Mill, SC; or Charlotte, NC.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on skills, experience, and location.
