About the role#
As an Operations Intern at Lowe's, you will gain hands-on experience within our distribution centers during the Summer 2027 term. You will work alongside operations leaders to understand how products move through our supply chain from inbound freight to outbound delivery. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Mooresville, North Carolina.
What you'll do#
- Learn distribution center fundamentals, including receiving, picking, packing, and shipping processes.
- Assist supervisors and observe daily operational management to develop leadership skills.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Use operational performance metrics to evaluate productivity and quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve challenges and improve outcomes.
- Understand safety and compliance protocols critical to supply chain operations.
- Contribute to initiatives that ensure our supply chain meets customer commitments.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Expected graduation dates of December 2027, May 2028, December 2028, or May 2029.
- A 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Proficiency in MS Office programs, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, and data analysis tools.
- Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Ability to wear required PPE and work a full shift with a meal break.
- Experience in a leadership position at work or within a campus organization is preferred.
- Relevant internship or experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations is a plus.
