About the role#
As a Store Merchandising - Store Environment Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the strategies that shape how customers experience our stores. You will work alongside Store Merchandising professionals to understand how product presentation, store environment, space, signage, and merchandising execution come together to create a shopping experience. Throughout the summer, you will contribute to projects that support the evolution of the Lowe’s store environment while gaining exposure to the collaboration required across Merchandising, Store Operations, Marketing, and Design.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate store merchandising concepts and identify opportunities to improve consistency, functionality, and customer engagement.
- Translate research, observations, and data into meaningful insights and recommendations.
- Present project findings and recommendations to business partners and leadership.
- Develop project management, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development and execution of store merchandising initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Retail Management, Marketing, Business, Design, Industrial Design, Interior Design, Analytics, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Preferred: 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.
- Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Preferred: Interest or experience in retail merchandising, store design, visual merchandising, customer experience, or store operations.
- Preferred: Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Preferred: Ability to balance creative thinking with business and customer needs.
- Preferred: Experience working on projects involving research, data analysis, presentations, or process improvement.
- Preferred: Previous retail, internship, academic project, leadership, or related professional experience.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship located on-site at the Lowe’s Store Support Center in Mooresville, North Carolina.
- The program term is Summer 2027.
